Ya know… I usually don’t make posts that pretty much say I had a horrible day… but, this was one of those days.
I woke up extra early to go to a job fair at the Tacoma Sheraton. Couldn’t find close parking, so I was about six blocks away. When I got in, I looked around at the minimal amount of tables. I walked around to find “sales” jobs. I got the “You don’t work off of a salary! You get mass amounts of commission!” So, I walked out.
On the way out, I wanted to get a cup of coffee from the free coffee table. I grab a cup, and a woman tells me “That coffee is not for everybody.” I reply, “Who is it for?” She says “People who are looking for jobs.” I say, “I am looking for a job.” She then shakes her head, motioning “no.”
Then, I had lunch with my mom! Chicken strip burger!
After lunch, I picked up Justine, and we went cd shopping! I got American Eyes, The Used, 2 Reel Big Fish albums, The Aquabats, and Deltron 3030… with a total cost of under $21.
I went to Guitar Center to check if Dan’s drum set was in the store yet, and it was. So, I called him, and he drove to Tacoma. I was still wearing my dress shirt and tie at this time, and I had SO many Guitar Center employees come up to me. More than EVER before. It seemed kinda weird.
While driving to Imperial Dragon (with Justine and Dan in the car), while stopped at a Red Light near Target, an old woman REAR ENDS my car! I had a soda that went flying all over my pants and driver’s seat.
We pulled into a nearby parking lot… The woman had a handicap symbol on her license plate. She did not even come out of the car to check damages on her car. My bumper is dented… it is pretty noticeable if you are looking for it, but not big enough to go through all of the bells and whistles of getting insurance company’s involved… so, I just drive away.
The three of us had dinner, and then headed back to Guitar Center for the drum kit.
We went to the drum area, and Dan showed his receipt of payment, and we got the drums!
Got to his truck, and we checked the box to make sure everything was supposed to be in there, is in there. According to the box, another set of symbols was inside, along with symbol stands, and the bass drum pedal. But, those were not in there! Dan went back inside the store to check on the missing parts. But, he came back outside quickly and reported that Guitar Center will open the prepackaged kits, and remove many of the components to make the kit a better deal. I think this is a huge scam, and just gives me one more reason not to trust Guitar Center. But, Dan was happy with the deal, and that is all that matters!
After this, Dan went home to set up what he could of his new kit, and Justine and I went to a few more music stores.
We went back to my house, and watched UltraViolet. Pretty good action movie. Lots of visuals, but not much substance.
