Axl wasn't sure anymore how long he'd been in that world-- before, things were all a blur. Rushing in, the fighting, thinking he was so close-- that he was going to get her and save her, get her out of there.

In a flash of blue light Sari appeared, holding a small space bridge generator, and a case which had some of her dad's tools inside.

She raided Isaac Sumdac's lab, and was surprised to find the generator that she could easily carry. Of course she had to do a little reprogramming so that it could take her across worlds.

One look at Axl and her eyes widen. "Axl!" She rushed over to him and knelt down, setting the generator and the case on the ground. "What did those creeps do to you?"

"Sari!" Axl went to move and winced, sitting back against the wall. "Ow, ow. Uh... a lot." He laughed painfully.

"Hold on. I'm going to see what your damage is and try to fix you up." Sari placed her hand on Axl's chest. Her hand began to glow as well as her eyes. It was like she was going into some kind of trance.

"Uh..." He blinked, a little surprised, but sat still and let her do... whatever that was she was doing.

Without saying anything, Sari took her hand away and opened the case. She knew exactly what to do now. She grabbed the appropriate tools and started working, fixing the internal damage first and working her way out.

Axl just watched at first, more than a little weirded out by the whole situation. At length, he glanced off, back in the direction of the building he knew they were holding Fuu in, doing who knows what.

"This is crazy," he murmured, not even thinking.

After a while, Sari sat back and blink, like she snapped out of the trance. She sat the scanner tool she was holding down and looked at Axl. "There. How does that feel?"

He shrugged a little and then pushed off of the wall, standing-- only a little wobbly. "Hey-- way better." He smiled weakly at her. "Thanks."

She gave him a slight smile. "No problem. I'm just glad I was able to fix you." She stood and, without thinking, hugged him.

Axl froze a little at first, not expecting it-- and definitely not used to it-- but, after a beat, he realized what he was probably supposed to do, and looped his arms loosely around her waist, laughing just a little from nerves.

Sari pulled away after awhile, a little embarrassed. "Sorry. I'm just relieved that I was able to fix you. I got a little scared when I first saw the damage."

He shook his head quickly. "No, it's okay. It's, um... kinda nice."

Sari smiled sheepishly. "Well hugs are supposed to be nice."

The sudden sound of approaching people caught Axl's attention and he pulled completely away, watching.

"... we need to get out of here."

"Right!" Sari quickly put the tools away and grabbed the case and generator. "Where to?"

"I was gonna go back to HQ for repairs, but, uh," he flashed a half-smile at her. "Guess I don't need those anymore, huh? How about we high-tail it to your world?"
