energy resources austrlia AGM

Apr 22, 2006 23:28

Next Wednesday is April 26th, the 20th anniversary of Chernobyl. The owners of the Ranger uranium mine and the Jabiluka lease, ERA (Rio Tinto) have picked this day for their AGM. -
unbelievable!

At the meeting they will be discussing:
* the plans for the extension of the Ranger uranium mine
* how to cash in on the 'hot" new emerging market that is China.
* 'when' ERA get permission for Jabiluka rather than 'if' and;
* The soaring profits the company is making from flogging the same material that caused thousands of deaths at Chernobyl.

The meeting is being held at the Shangri la hotel in the rocks (Shangri-la An imaginary remote paradise on earth; utopia. A distant and secluded hideaway, usually of great beauty and peacefulness.) Sounds like Kakadu pre ERA! Can this get any more like an episode from the Simpsons?

Please circulate this message to any of your networks and join us outside the meeting from 9.30.
