And another...

I recently posted news about a Dracula sequel here (although its a sequel to the story, not to the Coppola film). Now it seems there's also a prequel to the classic tale in the works:

From today's Hollywood Reporter:

Universal Pictures has sunk its teeth into "Dracula Year Zero," a spec written by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless. Michael De Luca is producing. The script chronicles the epic origin of Dracula, weaving vampire mythology with the true history of Prince Vlad the Impaler. It depicts Dracula as a flawed hero in a tragic love story set in a dark age of magic and war, repositioning him more as a vengeful hero than the monster seen in Bram Stoker's classic novel.

I'm not biting. I either want a very historically-accurate film of Vlad Dracula, or else spin-offs/prequels/sequels specifically with the same visual continuity and style of the Coppola film, and even directed by Coppola if he ever has a compulsion to do that Van Helsing Chronicles trilogy he'd planned.
