Today's word count: 44,960. Very nearly to 50,000.
I wrote a scene today that stressed me out because my main character was stressed. She's going through the grieving process and I've been pulling from my own experiences to write hers. Maybe I'm getting in her head a little too well. The next chapter will be a nice change of pace, since it's from another character's POV. A character who isn't grieving and tends to be a bit more shallow. The hard part is going to be getting into *her* head, because I have never felt like I had much in common with that sort of person. I need to go back over the stuff I have already developed for her and try to find some sort of emotional anchor that I can use to get in there. I need to find those things that are important to her, like family, and do some thinking about what she wants that she doesn't have.
I think my word count tomorrow isn't going to be as high as today's was. That's OK. I'm ahead of schedule.
