Midnight rantings

After finding out that I owe my university roughly 5 grand that should have been paid before the year ended, so in their wisdom they left it to the last second to tell me, with the friendly warning that I can't re-enroll with such a debt on my case. Gee thanks! I'm not so much a happy bunny right now, as right now it's so darn difficult to ( Read more... )

Hee... did she decide to be male for a moment there? Beautiful chaos thing, I imagined her as a sort of semi-crude earth-brown drawing with exaggerated head and lips... possibly with huge exaggerated hands too, but I'm not sure where that comes from. Does she have power over this soapbubble world, or any other, by the way?

Oh shite...there was some gender confusion when it came around for the first time.
Actually your description sounds exactly like Kerrigor from Sabriel.
I'm not sure exactly what she's capable of yet, this is a story version of the jungle elve's scripture which explains the first elves (Summer's kind), the creation of the second (assuming that the first had something to do with it), and why the second spilt into two types, and why the jungle kind avoid magic.

He he...
In-te-resting... this book Sabriel has, no, wait, it's not a man... shame. I thought it had a pretty male on the cover. Do you think they can shape worlds out of chaos, like Princes of Amber do?

Really? The covers over here have loads of charter symbols. You should read the trilogy, it's really good, it's got a smart alecky cat, paleskinned necromancer heroes, and innovative ways of "keeping the dead down." The bad guy in the first book slept for decades between life and death, so when he broke free he had to fasion himself a body of raw magick, yet had forgotten what being human looked like; plus he was in hurry so he always looked (to me) slightly half finished.

I'm not sure at this stage, they can turn their bodies into whatever they please, walk the different realms and take lovers both male and female of anything. This is likely to be the creation of the second. I want some things to be ambigious, 'cos I'm difficult like that.

I dunno, I just wiki'd the cover... I'll keep it mind, though right now I've got a lot of Zelazny and my brother wanted to buy some great books from a couple of women writers I enjoy reading... I might have to "borrow"...
