Did Orson Scott Card invent blogging?
I'm reading "Ender in Exile," the millionth or so Ender book to come out, and the first direct sequel to Ender's Game, and I remembered from the first book all the stuff Ender's siblings did as Demosthenes and Locke. For those of you who haven't read the book, basically these two characters created fictional alter egos, got themselves websites, and put up their political views for all to read. Sound familiar? Ender's game came out in 1984 - the word "blog" wasn't even invented yet. Hell, the word "web" was only just starting to be used in the context of electronic communication. But Orson Scott Card very clearly was having his characters blog. But was he the first?
