I think I am still recovering from that episode. It was terrific and effective but I was left emotionally steamrolled at the end because Hotch! Jack! D: (and I never liked Haley until her very last moment but oh man, that phone conversation...just so. much. hurt.)
other notable points:
- Reid talking down to Strauss ("I have an eidetic memory, therefore, your argument is invalid.") <3
- Jack "working the case" -- oh, my heart. Seriously, I think I would have been destroyed as a human being if Jack had died. I would probably have been a wreck. Not that the way it turned out wasn't upsetting enough, but I still think Hotch will manage to heal from this somehow whereas I don't think he could have coped with losing his son.
- team-love & standing by Hotch--I have such a soft spot for this theme
- Strauss is annoying and unnecessary and needs to either gtfo or be something other than a plot device.
