Wow. That was such a great version of the film, thank you so much for that. It squeezed my heart just full to bursting. I loved the movie, but it was so sad - friends I saw it with said they felt it was uplifting at the end, the characters with their fresh start and all that, but all I could see was the doom of repeating all the mistakes once more until they hate each other not just once but twice.

I think my favourite thing from this fic is that this version doesn't feel like that at all - in this I think Merlin and Arthur stand a real chance the second time around, and it's so wonderful. It gives my heart hope, and makes me want to squee all round the living room :) Thank you again.

I had to watch the movie twice before I properly fell in love with it (first time was after an all-nighter in exam-time and just gave me a migraine). Although I did see the very small speck of optimism in it, I agree that it requires a lot of squinting.

And thank you. I tried to not rehash the story and make it my own a little but so I'm glad the outcome worked for you :)

ahh no, you are absolutely right to call me out on the typos/mistakes. thing is, my beta did a fantastic job but I rushed to try to post it in time and wasn't able to incorporate all the edits. I'm slowly adding it all in now so people who read it earlier have the misfortune of coming across the awful bits >< I'm glad that despite that you were still able to enjoy it :)

I usually don't comment on fics. In fact, I think yours is my first. I just really wanted to tell you that this was incredible. It made me feel sad, which may not be what you were going for but that's a compliment, I swear! And I loved loved loved how you incorporated "When there's nothing left to burn..." because even though you didn't finish the statement, in my head I thought "...you have to set yourself on fire" and it was heart wrenching. "Your Ex-Lover is Dead" by Stars was playing in my head the entire time I read this. What a perfect song for this story.

Haha. Now I know why I don't comment on fics. I tend to ramble. Anyway, this was amazing. Nice work.

I love Stars and that song was very much a part of bringing this story together. I actually told myself at one point that if this story could in any way convey the feel of that song, my work here will be done, so you can see why I'm so pleased to hear that it had that effect :)
