sooo the last post was a total lie.
i wound up running into some 007/Q fic after all and actually liked a bunch by
this author on ao3 who i might quietly end up stalking because their prose is the kind of quietly gorgeous and evocative that i'm a sucker for:
big wet rose in my teeth - 579 words; He tells time by the colour of Q's lips.
the jack of hearts is my jackpot - 1873 words; Maybe one day he'd press close and Q wouldn't mind that he smelled of gunpowder; maybe he'd lean in and Q wouldn't pull away. (not sure if this needs a character death warning since it's rather ambiguous)
plus a captain america fic because one day i need to cry about all my steve/bucky feelings and why it isn't 2014 yet:
Fortunate Son - 2370 words [steve/bucky]; Bucky wakes up in the future to a world that needs Captain America; meanwhile, a Cold War-era supersoldier assassin emerges. -- ROLE REVERSAL AU!!!!!!! i love this premise and how it is handled here so much that i cannot even. everyone just reeeeeeeead it.
plus some vids! (all links go out to youtube)
welcome to the new age - sherlock holmes + bbc sherlock [gen; ensemble] -- this song gets used a lot but i especially love how it's been used here and the way they've contrasted the imagery and parallels between the two eras and the two versions. also it's super-cool to see the natural movements in the show/movie used so well in the editing rather than an overload of ~special effects~ because let's face it, whatever anyone's feelings are on either take, both source materials were filmed gorgeously.
glamorous - captain america [steve/bucky] -- there's something about the audio/video combination that shouldn't work but it does. i've watched this a few times now and i find it strangely uplifting every time--which is, y'know, the total opposite of the movie. i can't even explain it but there's this nostalgic feel to it and it's timed and edited wonderfully. basically, i love it a lot.
