I apparently have a few old letters and journals I don't have in my actual journals, or posted. I guess I just saved them to the computer. I vaguely remember doing this. I don't mind sharing;
Dear Grandma,
Sorry for the delay, but since July has come around, I've been busy on my work schedule. Since I last saw you, I have graduated as Salutatorian of my class. I read my speech in front of hundreds of people and was actually not as nervous as I thought I'd be.
I've also gone to Dorney Park with some friends. That was fun, but it was very hot. We're trying to plan a group trip for about 3 days to somewhere fun before the summer's over. One of our friends has planned one to Virginia Beach, Williamsburg, and Busch Gardens around Labor Day weekend, but none of us can go because we'll all be moving in or already at college. He's Katrina's age, Ben. But we're trying to get him to plan another trip to the same place before Labor Day Weekend. Other than that, I've just been hanging around here and there with friends. Nothing too exciting. Work has been boring, I just started my summer scedule and already I'm bored of it and want to be done.
Oh yes, we had my graduation party. That was a lot of fun! A bunch of my friends came, and we played football. Then we all went in the pool and played Marco Polo, volleyball, and water polo. Water Polo was so much fun, but so crazy. I had my school friends and then my Peter's friends, including my prom date, Shahbaz. He came as well. I plan to do it again because it's so much more fun on a larger scale. However, 3 of my best friends could not make it. Jasmine was in Mexico, Mary's in the Philippines till August and Leigh was coming back from South Carolina (she's going to school down there & her family's also moving down there, which upset me).
She's going to Clemson, Mary is going to Steven's Institute of Technology, Jasmine is going to Brooklyn College for their special med. program, Aleksandra is going to FIT for fashion design and so is Kimberly, but she's going for the fine arts. Chris is going to Penn State, my friend that you saw in the prom pictures, Juhyun, is going to Stony Brook with me, as well as Shahbaz, my friends Alex, Marie, Miriam, Kyle, Rob, and a few of their friends, so I'll know some people.
I had orientation on the 17th and met some fellow schoolmates and got my classes. I have pre-calc Math because I didn't take it in high school, I took AP Stats instead (which was a bad idea), Chemistry, Journalism, Introduction to Stony Brook (we all have to take it), and Astronomy. I might add another class or switch Astronomy to something else. I don't know. Then again, I don't want to completely mess up my schedule.
So far, the rest of the summer is unplanned. I've been reading a lot more. I'm really hoping to go away with my friends soon. It'd be a lot of fun. We were going to try and go to VA with Shahbaz on his family friend's time share, but the owners of the time share decided to go at the last minute, so we'll see what else we can do.
I will send you the article I was in in the Staten Island Advance. Jasmine and I were both salutatorians, how funny is that?
Hope everything is well, talk to you soon!
Love, Elisabetta
