Alex: you'll have had visitors for almost a month now
Me: I know
Me: I think if I had another one to complete the month, I'd give them a map of the city and be like
Me: go forth young grasshopper
Alex: lol I wouldn't blame you
My mom said she bets I'll be lonely when my brother leaves. Indeed, I miss people from home, as my brother asked me, "Don't you miss people from home?" But, like Alex pointed out, I've had visitors for almost a month now. While I was so excited and had a great time having these people fall in love with this beautiful country, and introducing them to my friends here, I am now literally sick and tired (I kept falling asleep on the tour bus yesterday with my brother).
It was more than I asked for. Four visitors, and of people I least expected.
Now, I can slightly relax though about my thesis and being temporarily homeless (Oh yea, that) and finding another place.
I was desperately trying not to panic and stress about my last assessment, moving out, looking for a place, and starting my thesis all while going around and showing people a good time.
I have some room to breathe, and four months ish, till I'm home.
Thank you very much for visiting me. It warmed my heart to see familiar faces, have conversations of home, sit around like it was back in the Stony days, for being able to experience a piece of what I have and falling in love with it, and being able to meet some of the wonderful people I have. Thanks for letting me buy you drinks, and thanks for letting me make you laugh at my British inflections. Thanks for being struck into awkwardness by my gorgeous classmate, Kevin. Thanks for coming out with my classmates, having a good time, and coming into a club and dancing with us! Thanks for reminding me that I'm not completely forgotten back home, and missed.
And thanks for being amazing friends and family that took the time and money out to visit me 3,000 miles away. It was a once in a lifetime experience for sure.
