Apparently, Tuesdays are my day to make things happen.

I stayed up most of the night (with a small nap, apparently, in the middle) to wake up at 3am and watch the neat lunar eclipse that was taking place. This was one of the best ones to be viewed from the West Coast, and so I wanted to actually see what one was like. It was slow, yet amazing, as this particular eclipse had two components, the actual shadow as well as this reddish layer that crossed over the moon as well. Very neat. Very eerie, like what they attempt to convey in a lot of (stereo)typical supernatural pictures. Very much conjured words like 'blood moon'.

I even let the cats out to wander around in the subdued moonlight, much to their delight. Randy (a house guest for a week) tried to wander his way out of our yard, and quickly learned to his dismay that some fences are one-way vehicles. (Bad cat!) They still enjoyed romping and sniffing and just exploring somewhere new, and after the eclipse was fading by about 4:30am, they were ushered into the house.

Which left me awake. Wide awake. At 4:30am. So, what do you do?

Clean! (Jareth, you can sigh and roll your eyes at me later.)
The house needed it anyways: Floors mopped, laundry done, dishes washed, rugs vacuumed, tables cleared/neatened, cat accoutrément scrubbed out (and then refilled for the cats' morning feeding, much to their enjoyment)...

And several rounds of baking muffins.

Sometimes you have one of those days where you do more before 9am than you're going to do the whole rest of the day.
