Fourteen years...

Aug 17, 2005 10:40

Looking back, it still doesn't seem like so long. I've been with my fox for fourteen years today.

Of course, there's all the argument and debate as to exactly when we decided to be a couple:
The trip to Philadelphia to the PAS (Philadelphia Animation Society) meeting, so we could meet...
The night we spent in the hotel when the station wagon shaterri, myself, and few others were using to get to Philadelphia from Pittsburgh broke down...
The letter he sent me later, in which he had to shyly admit he wasn't straight, but bisexual, and how he so loved being held by me as we slept that night...
When he decided to visit me at my house in Pittsburgh ("The Furry House O' Sin") for the first time...

But in the end, we decided that this was our anniversary day.

The day isn't really amazing me as much as other little bits of math:
I'm 35 years old. I've been with this dear fox for fourteen years. Two-fifths of my life have been spent with him. By the time I'm 40, if we're still together (and I see no reason at all to think we won't be), I'll have been with him longer than I've been without him.

...just amazing. Wonderfully amazing.
I love you, fox. So very much. And have for all this time. Happy anniversary.
