Let's see! I'm going to have to give you some fragmented feedback of random stuff in your MASSIVE entry! [not that massive is bad, mind you!]
1)First of all... it is a PROVEN fact that sunlight helps you process more vitamens[tm] making you stronger and Probably happier in general. I don't think this should effect an entire population in a sunny area i.e. California, [Counterpoint: the Sudan is sunny, and NO ONE is happy there!] But I deffinately think that people will be bored with ANY hometown if that is in their personality. Whether it's in LA or Rochester. I'd be interested to see if their PERSONALITY is changed by location [ie, the culture of California encourages happiness, making people there love it, versus Rochesterites hating their town, b/c of their culture.] I think you'd be interested to know that there is a popular facebook group for MSU called Rochester is Awesome. I disagree, of course.

2)You know what? I'm thrilled that you've got to travel. But I still haven't [yet] in my life... so unlike you're awesome motivated Stuco friends I can't answer anything about cultures. Maybe someday.
3) Meeting random interesting people is one of the greatest pleasures we are given in this life! I find that people are remarkably the same. After all... barring gender, we share 99% of our genes! Now it's just a matter of seeing whether nature can be overcome by nurture in deciding who a person can be. People may seem very different, but we've been judging each other for millions of years, with that much practice, we can tend to see subtlties that really don't matter. People are pretty much the same, when you get past the accents. They say the same stuff, just differently.

And a word of caution: Anyone can be a person to be looked up to, admired, ect. NO ONE can be a 'role model' for living. Live like you feel you should, avoid living like someone else like the plauge. But I think I'm preaching to the choir there.

4) AMEN to findin' yourself, brother. So many people are looking for something else. Something that's NOT themself. What a horrid waste of time! Can we find common ground in humanity? I don't know. Do we want to? Humanity is a double-edged sword; it can cut through darkness and lead us to enlightenment, but it also can mow down millions of minds and bodies when used improperly. Humanity can kill itself. It hasn't completely yet, of course. Let's hope our humanity is better than that. Or maybe we should find common ground in something else. Maybe we should strive to be gods [have you said YOUR blasphemy of the day?]. Maybe we should try to cast off our chains of humanity. Our desired to kill, to hate, to destroy, to fear. And leave those good parts that we so often think about when we say 'humanity', compassion, strength, caring, ect.
To your last question, on how/if we can do that... I don't know. It's a new millenium, anything can happen. Maybe our technology will rise up and determine us obsolete. Maybe Jesus will come down and do the Macarena. Maybe we'll decide to cast off our good, but not awesome humanity and become something totally different. Maybe love won't have to rule. Maybe we'll just give peace unconditionally. Hell, if we give ourselves a little time, you'd be surprise at what we can do, probably.

Well... Lastly, the more pretentious you are, the better. You're not there to a flaw... yet. I can't wait for that day!

If you are a "fucking pseudo-drunken dumb-shit" then you are a better actor than I could ever be and therefore should have been Leonard in 'Witness' instead. I love you, but I don't think you're THAT great. I'm sorry.

Huzza for Summer.
