I'm back!

Back in Sydney and it feels weird but I should be back to normal and back in the swing of things soon enough...

It sucks having Darren so far away but he's coming back around the second week of April. I figure I will be pining for a month, busy with uni and hopefully a new job the next month, then I will have a month to get excited because he will be arriving soon. Already I'm wishing the summer away until he comes back. Just after I finished that sentence I got an sms from him saying his ticket has been booked :-) coincidence!!

Anyway, speaking of summer, it's way too hot. It was 40 degrees celcius here yesterday and today wasn't much cooler...apparently on Saturday it will be just as hot as well. I'm sunburnt and peeling and not used to being sweaty/sticky like this. Since I have more rolly bits than before I don't feel comfortable wearing 'summer' clothes but I either have to wear shorts and singlets or be sweaty and very uncomfortable. I might join the gym at Stanhope with mum so at least she can drive me out there (left to my own devices I probably wouldn't be bothered driving to the gym).

Looking for a job now, will sign up for recruiting agencies and scouring job websites. Would love something either outdoors, or in a nice aircon office. Don't fancy being on my feet all day in a shop, really. Working in a kebab shop was bad and scrubbing pots wrecked my hands so now that I can legally work in almost any job I want I would like to be able to choose something more suited to what I enjoy and am good at. Beggars can't be choosers though so I might have some issues with what I want and what I am offered.

Overall I'm glad I spent time away, I saw so much and met so many fantastic people. Living independently was perfect and I enjoyed being able to look after myself. Coming back home is a real step backwards because being back in my parents house I have to go by 'her' rules (overbearing mother) and because my car is broken and unregistered I am relying on her for lifts to places I can't walk to (or can't afford to catch the bus to).
I took myself around the world to seven different countries and countless cities but now I'm not even able to get myself from A to B by myself...

Something is going on with my phone. I still have the same phone I had in Australia (same number too FYI) and ever since I left the UK it won't let my sms messages to Darren send. They send to everybody else, including other numbers in the UK but just not his. It did it in Scandinavia, and it's still doing it now. Needless to say, it is extremely frustrating. I've worked out now though that if I send a reply to one of his messages within a short period after it's arrived then they will go through to him. I have no idea what is going on but my phone company owes me an upgrade and they said to come in whenever I get back to claim it so when I go in (probably tomorrow) I will ask them about it. Fancy that...the one person I want to be able to message whenever I want to tell him I miss him or I am thinking about him or that I arrived home safely and I am unable to! Calls go through fine though, so who knows what the problem is.

I'm off to trawl job websites to see if anything I can do is listed. Too bad they don't have MDS trials here like they do in the UK. Would be an easy $6000 and a good way to fill in a couple of weeks with minimal effort.
