Where am I now?

I'm in a internet cafe in Qingdao (China). Qingdao is a port city of China. One of the most important since the port never freezes. This is where Japan invaded China back in the day....history.....

So, I'm just relaxing now. Korea was pretty cool. No one there really spoke any mandarin though. I think a lot more Koreans knew Japanese as opposed to English. But, some people are really nice. My dad and I walked around and ate at a semi small place. They knew we didn't speak korean (probably since we don't look korean) and immediately showed us the picture menu. After the food came, I used the korean chopsticks (pretty funky blocks). The waitress (who was cute) tried to tell me how to eat the food. I understood what she was trying to say, but tried to tell her I didn't want to eat the spicy stuff in my cold noodles. However, instead she brought an older lady to try to tell me how to eat it. The lady was speaking Mandarin and I was trying to speak in English and say I didn't want to eat it. It was kind of funny. But, pretty cool.

In Qingdao, I just went to meet my father's business associates. They're all really nice. I was talking to one of their kids in English and he was saying how he is having so much trouble in Chinese and English. It was funny talking with him because we were talking about girls. He was saying that he doesn't want to go to a top university because all the girls there are ugly. But, he doesn't want to go to the low end universities just to go after the hot girls. He's in a big dilemma. Well, only if he can pass his exams.
Anyways, all the business people were really friendly. They kept trying to teach me more and more Mandarin words. I'm pretty sure that I can retain like 10% of what they taught me. haha, I'm so pitiful when it comes to remembering the languages. Oh well, I need to try harder.

I guess I will probably go to Hong Kong tomorrow. Hopefully I can. It should be fun there. I can at least communicate with the people there more than I can communicate with the people who speak mandarin.
