{ jiyong/seungri ; canon }
★
when jiyong wakes up, the other side of the bed is empty. crumpled blankets and a haphazard pile of pillows and nothing else. he reaches out, smooths a hand over gaping space and sighs at the trace of residual warmth under his fingertips. the clock reads six fifteen in blinking red digits and the sky is painted in pretty pastels, watercoloured landscape over dirt-washed blue.
jiyong finds seungri in the kitchen.
"i hope you made coffee."
"hot chocolate." seungri is leaning against the counter, hair sticking up everywhere and eyes smudged with insomnia. his grin cuts a jagged line of lips and teeth across his face and jiyong thinks love shouldn't look so macabre. "with marshmallows."
jiyong wrinkles his nose in disgust. he catches a glimpse of sharp collarbones, too-pale skin as he rattles the coffeemaker into life but seungri is too busy staring at something that isn't jiyong to notice. "what are you thinking about?"
"let's get married."
jiyong hmms. he stares at the smooth lines of seungri's neck.
"we'll get a house with a big yard, a couple of adopted mongolian kids and a dog."
"we already have gaho," jiyong points out after a second.
seungri blinks and he turns to look at jiyong. "gaho is yours."
"he likes you."
"he bites me when i try to pet him." the coffeemaker hums in the background and seungri drops another marshmallow into his mug. jiyong pulls seungri closer, fingers digging into old t-shirt and warm skin. he glances into the mug and sees more marshmallows than hot chocolate. seungri doesn't seem too bothered by the ratio. "maybe i'll just get a cat."
"gaho will eat the cat."
"or maybe i should divorce you and your dog first and then get a cat."
jiyong sighs. he rests his cheek on seungri's shoulder and keeps his arms a loose circle around seungri's waist. "our adopted mongolian kids will be devastated."
"they'll be in military school. they won't even know."
"why would we send our adopted mongolian kids to military school?"
"because we don't want them to notice that we're absent fathers."
jiyong presses a kiss into the juncture between seungri's neck and his shoulder. he laughs when seungri shudders. "you've really thought this through, huh."
"i can't sleep." seungri takes a sip of marshmallow. jiyong keeps an eye on the coffeemaker and tightens his arms around seungri. "hey, jiyong hyung."
"yeah?"
seungri looks at jiyong and his smile is tender, fragile. too young underneath that painted bravado and plastic charms. "let's grow old together."
"in a house with a big yard, a couple of adopted mongolian kids and gaho?"
"and my cat. don't forget my cat."
"okay." jiyong kisses the corner of seungri's mouth. sweet, sweet seungri. like marshmallows. "okay."
