Summer of Barrytown U.S. Chapter

So I figured that since I had such a crazy weekend I would post about it on here. We have a couple friends that live in missoula montana that we went to go and visit and hang out with and go camping with. We left on saturday morning with the intention to get there around the supper hour and had it not been for the border crossing in alberta we would have made it. We sat there for 2 hours in line and then finally inside getting checked out a little bit and then we were back on our way. We made it to Missoula at 8 or so at night after leaving calgary around 10. The first night we were all pretty tired but we did the usual catching up since we haden't seen each other for the last couple months. While we were talking the campsite host named Gary came over and was talking with us and he just stayed there and talked to us for like 4 hours. He's the sort of guy you can tell maybe just lives out there with his wife and kid and gets kinda lonely so he just likes to talk to the different people that visit his campsite.
The next day Gary in the morning took us up this crazy drive where the other people in the vehicle thought we were going to die or go over the hill and down the mountain. Anyways he took us up to this lookout point at the top of a mountain where there was this old weather station that you could acctually rent and camp in for about 30 bucks a night. After we got back down the hill we went to these natural hot springs where there are these pools of hot water that just come out of the ground which are hotter than any hot pool you would find anywhere around.
When we got back to the campsite we ate some food and started the campfire again and there were a couple girls that were camping beside us that were on a five week roadtrip from california just seeing the sights and what nots. They ended up hanging out at our site that night as well and telling us about their trip so far and of course Gary was with us again hanging out till all hours in the morning. Now that i'm typing this there is just so much that happened and so many neat people we ran into in just the course of a weekend that it almost felt like it was a week long vacation. Anyways the next morning we got up and said our goodbye's to Gary and the california girls and I swear it looked like Gary was going to cry. We got his info and we can email him anytime so we were saying that we should make this trip a yearly thing. We drove home and got there around 11 at night. We were all so so exhausted and now its like 4:30 in the afternoon on tues as I write this and think about our friends that we knew for only a short time this weekend. All in all this is the summer of barrytown. The weekends just seem to get better and better and we have more trips planned before the snow starts to fall and more memories and more people to meet and run into.
