Well, Ellen Rimbauer has diary that I think you should read. If you're into paranormal stuff.
It's about a woman, named Ellen Rimbauer, who is the fiance of a rich man named John Rimbauer. John plans on making a colossal house for her. But when they started building, they found dead old bodies, possibly indians.
Before she knew the truth about the house she had plenty of time to get out. But in my opinion something entranced her, making her feel as if she wanted to stay so that she could see how her future would turn out by staying there. And almost as if she knew she was supposed to stay there and find out what made the feelings of the houses soul so strong to her companion and "friend", Sukeena, and herself.
I also think that anyone who reads the book is forced to think ways that they never thought they would want to, and yet find themselves researching beyond belief.
