Name: Dawn
Age: Ten
Gender: Female
Fandom: Pocket Monsters (anime 'verse)
Timeline: After DP164, when her Piplup learns Hydro Pump.
History:
Bulbapedia!
Character Personality:
In the beginning of the series, including precanon, Dawn, of course had always been the huge dreamer, wanting to become a coordinator just like her famous mother, Johanna, who too was a coordinator. Of course, she loved to watch her mother on TV when she was still a coordinator, even though she did retire at a certain point.
Dawn, unlike most of Ash’s previous friends, has a lot of confidence in her abilities. This is shown by the fact that her catchphrase is “No need to worry!”, though it’s more likely that I’ll be using “Everything will be alright,” the translation of her Japanese catchphrase, “Daijobu!” This is actually the complete opposite of May in the beginning of the series, who had a lot of self-doubt about her abilities as both a trainer and a coordinator. She shows this through her goal of becoming the best Pokémon coordinator out there.
No matter what happens, Dawn always looks towards the future and never lingers on the past. There have been only a few occasions when she had self-doubt about her abilities as a coordinator, but as soon as a friend helped her out, she got right back up and aimed for the stars -- to her next ribbon.
During her first few weeks with Ash and Brock, Dawn tended to hide her appearance from everybody, not wanting anyone to see her until she looked just perfect. This is probably because of the traumatizing event that came with her nickname, “Dee Dee” (Pikari in the original).
When Dawn was young (around seven or so), she used to play around with the pets of her Kindergarten, Plusle and Minun, who in turn shocked her due to the mere fact that she was squeezing them a bit too tight. And that’s where she got the nickname. Due to her sparkling hair. She hardly mentions it to Ash and Brock until they see her scared of the two Pokémon.
Dawn also slept in a tent for many episodes, but as she warmed up to her new friends, she decided to join the others in sleeping on sleeping bags outdoors - unless, of course they’re sleeping inside the Pokémon Center or with somebody inside a house.
When it comes to contests, Dawn is very enthusiastic about them, and she gains lots of friends by it. Also, she loves all her Pokémon, no matter what they look like or how they act. No matter what, she’ll do her best to train all of them.
Friends are really important to Dawn. Not only does she go to them for emotional support, she also attempts to help them with their problems and comforts them when they’re down, such as what she did with Ash when he lost the fight with Paul.
Character Abilities: Even though Dawn has no special powers that most series do, she is really good at Pokémon battles when she is in a contest. Because she is a coordinator, her creativity level is up, especially when it comes to new attacks for her Pokémon. In this case, as a meister, she'll be able to create new ways of attacking with her Weapon.
Character Weaknesses: Her biggest weakness, to me, would probably be having to see her friends hurt or be pessimistic. She's pretty much human, after all.
[ MEISTER SECTION ]
Why your character should be a Meister: Even though Dawn is a coordinator, not a trainer, she should be a Meister because of her optimistic activity and her bravery to never give up or give in. In a battle, or war, such as this one, she'd be willing to help her Weapon to the very best of her abilities.
[ SOUL INFORMATION ]
Soul Description: Friendly, enthusiastic, confident, brave, cheerful, curious~
Soul Appearance: Dawn's soul is pretty simple looking. It's a pink, circular soul that has looks like Dawn, with her eyes and peeking out in the back is her two triangular hair clips and her hair is styled in a ponytail -- just like she does during contests.
Meister Ability: Soul Coordinate, which makes group resonation up to two teams, self included, easier.
