It's similar enough to Christmas to be comprable. In the end, though, I just prefer it.

Is this because it lasts longer?

Yes, that. Also, it's older, and does not revolve around lying to little children.

...Lying?

Mostly about a fat man in a red suit.

Has anyone told you the Santa Claus bit, yet?

Not at all. What bit of reading I did mentioned someone by the name of Jesus Christ. Are they related?

They may as well be.

Jesus Christ was a crossdressing carpenter who was nailed (hah, irony) up on a cross to die, as the religeon centered around him says, for the sins of all humanity. Christmas (The mass of Christ) is to celebrate his birth. Saturnalia falls close to the holiday.

Santa Claus is an unfortunate marketing ploy to get humans to buy things for children during said holiday.

...What I read did not cover that much on the man. He died for his people? It is tragic indeed, but it seems a noble cause.

And if that is the case, I cannot say I very much approve of tarnishing it with false advertising.

He died for his beliefs, however incorrect or potentally dangerous. I trust you know what a martyr is?

I simply dislike the general principle, but that rational works just as well.

Very much so, yes. I believe it to be a debatable line of thought...

Were I to find that my death would truly bring peace to my country and it's cousins, I would hand my life over in the beat of a heart. But I do not believe this is so. I would like to think there is more to be gained in life rather than death.

But there are exceptions in many cases. I do not truly know this man's story, and so I have no right to aptly judge.

That is, of course, the spirit.

Now choose, the King James' edition or the original Latin, translation via yours truly?

I must admit that your translations and quips often bring a smile to my face.

I'll see if I can find a copy, then.

[ooc Feel free to godmod Robin finding said Latin bible, reading the Latin, than his translation, often including descriptions of the dresses Jesus was wearing, and other complete and utter truths >>;]

You have my gratitude.
