(no subject)
well fans, its time for another update. i survived finals and the long & boring drive through missori and oklahoma, and my parents met me in southern oklahoma to finish out the last couple hours in north texas because those last couple hours are just so painful. the next day i basically did nothing. well, i got bored and went to get my haircut since it had been a while, so i just went to regis at the mall and the woman did the exact opposite of what i said, she took off way more than i asked for and gave me this weird awkward really blut layer thing that turned out horribly. funny how all i asked her to do was take 3 inches off and keep the existing cut and this happened??? when i was leaving i realized she gave me the exact haircut that she had. i was like...um honey this doesnt work on you, and it definatly doesnt work on me. oh well, my hair grows fast. oh oh melinda - its the exact haircut everyone had in 8th grade when we would all flip the bottom layer out and the top layer under. i know we both did it and what a bad trend that was. (ps lunch soon? yes?) oh, then i realized how bad my roots were getting - i honestly think this blonde will never disappear - and died it browner again. well then i spend the evening packing to head out to new orleans to visit the family. driving into the city from the airport was really depressing, a lot of the area still doesnt really have power, there is crap everywhere, and almost everyone has blue plastic on their roofs where they got damaged. you can tell how bad each neighborhood got b/c of the water line on all the houses. this morning mom wanted to go see our old neighborhood and such but dad and i vetoed that plan and went for beignets instead, i definatly not ready for that, although i heard we only got a couple feet so the basement probly didnt even fill. anyway, it was kinda fun looking at a lot of apartments that are for sale in the quarter b/c my parents will be back there before june - yet another corporate buyout is our excuse to head back home. hm, family visiting in the country was boring as always, but dinner with my mom's cousins was fun/drunk as usual - good wine, food, etc... i also read memoires of a geisha, finished it between plane rides, i really want to see the movie now. anyway, im home now and full of chinese food. i finally feel like i can relax for a while, despite all the dg work i have to do to get ready for the new members! all fun of course. mmm im thinking early bedtime, keeping up with the parents schedule is difficult. merry christmas eve all!
