Claireapalooza
This was by far the best birthday i have ever had. settle down and get a beverage because this could be a long one.
Lets start on thursday, when Will got here. i was slightly late to pick him up due to a small fight with a gas pump/bad traffic due to the skinker detour. naturally we had to make out like teenagers and i noticed a guard waving for us to move it along because i was parked outside of the 5 minute passenger pickup zone (on the one day ever that there were no other cars/busses in the pickup line). anyway, then we made our way home. later that afternoon we headed over to melis's to hang by her pool before dinner at hooters (yum yum). then we watched the fudge show and got free samples. after that it was movie time so we rented charade from the library - so good.
friday we had a lazy morning then went to 6 flags! so fun. because it was supposed to be insanely hot there were no lines anywhere (except for the scooby doo interactive mystery ride which i suck at). after a thrilling afternoon, we walked over to the water park area and found out where everyone was. then we decided to just go home rather than paying 12 to rent a locker for an hour (got there lateish) and stand in line. then i made dinner (a delicious pasta dish from a frozen bag). lets see, then it was saturday. saturday will and i went to the art museum (kind of unimpressed, too much christianity - im definatly a modern art person). then will suprised me with a massage at the chase park spa! it was AMAZING, sooo incredible. then we were off to dinner and movie while i was instructed to vacate the apartment for pre-claireapaloozaness. bewitched was ok. not great, not walk out bad, but just ok. then we were gonna get dinner at the cheesecake factory, but the wait was like an hour and a half, and after driving around a lil we realized it was impossible to get a table anywhere in a reasonable amount of time. so we settled on racanellies (sp?) BAD CHOICE. the oil on top of my pizza actually burned my lip (i got a huge blister!) and the bottom was solid black. so i went and complained and the woman said it wasnt burnt, but i got a new piece, which was still the worst piece of pizza ever. so even though their delivery pizzas are good im boycotting. then we went back for CLAIREAPALOOZA
that night was amazing. priya & co decorated the apartment (a new orleans/texas theme) while stef picked up a keg of pbr! these girls rock. pretty much everyone in the world was there at some point, it was hillarious running into people that i knew but had no idea they were in town. like when one of the sig nu's showed up because he is stef's friend kristi's lab partner? im like...hi i know you. the dg flippy cup team was undefeated ( i think) and decided to cheer a little, which apparently scared some of the guests but we didnt know that till the next day. beer pong galore, drinks everywhere, drunk claire in full force. amazing. that night rocked. see priya's website for pictures.
i passed out at some point, and the next morning will and i went to uncle bills for some de-hangovering. mmmmmmmm food coma. afterwards we headed to the pool with stef for more chillin (ran into asher - weird (ubersketchy alum)). then i guess we went to dinner at the cheesecake factory for real, which was scrumptious. next day was monday i believe, which involved a budweiser tour (kind of like holy ground for me), followed by the science center. then i had to take will to the airport which was very sad. very very sad. im glad i got to see him this summer, but another 2 months is going to suck ass. royally.
anyway monday night i was watching cant hardly wait with priya and jana when a bunch of their friends who i dont know showed up randomly, and that turned into a danceoff, and my first now moment (renting you got served), followed by another dance off. then it was tuesday and i had to go back to work at the psych center, then i had training at express! the large amounts of instructional videos and worksheets was overwhelming, but eventually ill get it. its a lot more intense than dry ice, like no more naps behind the counter. but this is a company thats not going out of business so i guess thats good. the discount could get dangerous - im going to be spending more money there than i would otherwise, but whatever, cute clothes!
today i woke up feeling like shit to the tunes of maggie and priya's breakfast party, apparently will was sick and managed to hide it very well. he felt bad about not warning me but he didnt want to ruin the weekend, he rocks like that. then i passed out again, woke up still feeling crappyish and decided to spend the day in my pjs in front of the tv. got some steak n shake for lunch, and when i got back my box - o - presents from mom was awating. i got 2 louisiana cookbooks (one is pretty much the cajun cooking bible, the other was apparently compiled by dg's) and some cooking essentials which are cool and we really needed! i also got a spa gift certificate so im gonna get ultra pampered.
afterwards priya shelley stef and i went to dinner at broadway oyster bar, which was yummy. when we got back they gave me another present! a double flask, the larger one (engraved with "claireapalooza") is perfect for the butt pocekt) and the other i can tuck into my bra very slyly (engraved with an anchor) and they come together in this lovely leather pouch with a belt clip! so im set for any flask carrying occasion. its freekin sweet! hmmm, then i was proved totally wrong about the not tearing down koenig rumor when i dropped stef off on the 40 after a schnucks run to see that koenig is now missing one side.
so all in all, great weekend!
