Don't ever break you knee!

Well, I went to the Orthopedic doctor this morning. He took off the splint that the urgency room put on my leg Sunday and gave me something much lighter and easier to work with. He looked at the xrays and showed me that the tibia was indeed broken, but broke to the side near the ACL. He said I would probably need surgery, but the only way to know (for sure) if the ACL has been damaged at all is to have an MRI done. So, Friday morning I am going to do just that.

The pain has gone down significantly, but it's still pretty bad. I'm lonely and bored all day on the couch here, and I miss Dean terribly. Mom and Buster are keeping me company, but Mom still has a business to run, so she comes and goes all day. Going to the bathroom is a chore, and if I drop something I pretty much have to call the neighbor or deal with it. My butt is sore from sitting so long. Today I got up for a bit and walked around with the crutches until the movement got so bad I had to sit back down.

I'm in a little pain right now because they had to straighten my leg today. OUCH! I'm working on it, though. If I keep it straight, there's a higher possibility that I can keep the broken piece where it's supposed to be and keep it from hitting the ACL, if it ever was. I hope not. I really don't want surgery. I'm ready to get off this damn couch and start healing. But, I'm not even casted yet, so that probably wont be for a little while longer.

I have some stuff to keep me busy, so I've managed to keep the insanity level a little under wraps. However, the immobility thing is really getting to me. Even though I do enjoy movies, my gameboy, puzzles, and other sorts of inactive activities, I DO NOT sit still while doing them! So, it's a challenge.

Anyway, at least I was able to enjoy some of the sunshine and warmer weather. WHOOP! Spring's-a-comin!
