[Piers didn't even bother to do anything more than listen to the other responses on that draft announcement. His name was on there, so was Mia's, and so were the names of others he knew and counted as friends. It didn't seem like there was anything that could be done.
But still, he needed some time to himself to deal with this and to know that he or some of his friends may well not come back from this. From what others said, it sounded dangerous. Problem was, he wasn't sure what those dangers were since a place like a rainforest didn't really exist in Weyard, or if it did he didn't exactly know that was the name for it.
He'll leave a note for Mia letting her know he went to take a walk out by the lake. He'll come back to the apartment in a couple of hours.
If anyone else happens to be out there, he'll be found doing one of three things. Just staring at the lake itself. They might catch him talking to three strange looking creatures and then he'll be trying out a few possible uses for Hover Psynergy that could be helpful out there. Mostly he's going to see if it will work without the devices and if it does not, then he will see if with that and the wings if it could help with a safe landing from a high up place.

Also, could any of those who have been drafted before give a better idea of what to expect from the enemy? [Since the Commandant was just so forthcoming after all, and the Guide really was limited in info on that.]
