Tonight I bought a seafoam green 32 key melodica.
I finished a play about rainbow spitting robots.
The play I am in is about to go up.
Things chug by. This year is a cartoon steamboat, puffing out little clouds of smoke, little moments.
I spend too much money at bleep.com. I sleep in late. I fake being more mature than I was before.
Everything has been distilled down to miniscule gestures. The tiny words I say all day- the occasional small success.
I grow up able to imagine the vastness of the world yet only see it as something more flat.
Things begin to make more sense, but then nothing is exciting anymore. And so most of the time I quietly wait for the long mornings I have with Charlie, the small creative moments, a brief amusing conversation...
My name is Dennis.
I am still awake.
