so today i decided to buy my prom bids. people were saying it costs $80 today, even though it was stated yesterday that they would be sold at $70 today. naturally, i got frustrated and contemplated arguing my case to the prom commission. then my friends suggested that we all turn in "i want to go to prom for free" slips. as i do value my dignity, i decided against filling out the embarrassing form. i decided to pay the extra $20 instead.

luckily for me, they were actually $70 each today! i happily took out my chequebook from my purse and began writing a cheque for $140. i received my bids and was about to go on my happy way, WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN...

alanna has no cash. neither does carrie. and they're too cheap to pay the $80 tomorrow. so what does alanna do? ask me to pay for her deposits, of course. being the nice person i am, i agree, and even ask carrie if she'd like me to write her a cheque for her deposit.

now my checking account is very low in cash. usually numbers don't mean anything to me. but then i realized that I HAVE TO PAY FOR INSURANCE NEXT MONTH AND IT'S ONE THOUSAND FUCKING DOLLARS.

did i make the right decision by loaning $60 to my friends? who don't work nearly as much as i do? or devote ALL* of their weekend time earning an income than having fun? and will probably not pay me back until a long time from now? probably after i have to pay for my insurance?

i'm trying to not be bothered by this, because it's just money. but it's extremely frustrating having to pick up the slack because my friends are irresponsible.

*[edited. i think that friday 4-9, saturday 5-12, and sunday 2-9:30 is basically my entire weekend.]
