First flight: big guy, tiny plane, tiny seat, guy looks at me, looks at seat and makes a face of sadness. I smiled at him. He was super polite and helped me put my bag overhead. We were squished for a full hour on shaky teeny plane. My right and his left leg were pressed together the whole time. They were sweaty when we peeled apart to leave. The area from Lexington to Charlotte had square plots of land that was surrounded by trees. From Colorado to Washington, the plots of land were circular.
The second plane was much bigger, less bumpy, and pretty long. I had time to start and finish two books. The girl beside me was interesting. We only talked at the end of the flight. She was busy the whole time. I'd say she was 12-14 years younger. Did homework, highlighted and took notes, had a worn folder with sheet music in it. She seemed like a hard worker and someone who follows her dreams. People study music because they want to. It's not something anyone is really pressured to do. I was looking out the window between chapters, taking breaks. I was amazed this young girl wasn't more in awe...then we got near Seattle. She gasped and teared up at this huge snowy mountain as high as the plane. I did too. It was the first time that seeing something made me tear up instantly. I said, "I wonder how tall that is?" The girl knew and told me and explained she was accepted into this exclusive climbing program. She's going to climb it. I thought that was awesome. From the airport Eric and I met up and shared a cab to the hotel. The driver was hilarious. He asked where we thought he was from. We both said India. He said that was correct. He said lots of people assume he's from Iran of Iraq. He made constant jokes and was very fun. This is the first part of my adventure.
