My date for formal just cancelled, a whopping 24 hours before we were supposed to leave for Charleston, and a week after I had already paid for a hotel room and 2 meals at formal dinner. This is all because she got scheduled to work on Saturday, and her boss is our chapter advisor. This would normally be a good thing, but because we're on social probation and our formal is a secret, we can't let him know about it, so I can't ask him to let her off work as a favor.

Looks like I'll be the only one there without a date, but hey, silver lining is that I get 2 gormet meals at the same time on Saturday...
