The London Expo was brilliant!
For £6 entry, I think it was well worth it (even if British Rail was conspiring to keep me away for the day). I saw Andy Serkis (Gollum), Michael York (who was on tv the same night in Austin Powers!) and Bruce Boxleitner (Babylon 5), bought some comics, got a great deal on a magazine I already buy, with 3 issues and a free book all for £8, plus some groovy jewellery. There was a great area run by Sweatdrop Studios where people were busy drawing manga characters for their competition (both by hand and digitally) and there were events including the cosplay shows (one girl dressed up as the main creepy chick from Ringu - run away! run away!) and wrestling (how funny is wrestling?! stocky men covered in baby oil stamping their feet!).
So yeah, it was a really good day out!
I feel pretty shit today though - I think the overtime at work is starting to take its toll a bit and I have been really pushing it a bit recently - I was being good and getting to bed around 10 most nights, but a few later nights and more to do in each day is making me a bit zombie-like. I should really have learnt my limitations by now but I keep pushing it anyway.
On another note, how depressing was the tv last night - at one point it was poverty in Dubai on 2, people who were horribly injured in the July 7 bombings on 3, and the hurricane aftermath on 4. I am appalled to say I ended up watching Eastenders on 1 because it was the *least* depressing thing on!
What the hell is all that about?
And what the hell is that Chrissie-woman's hair supposed to look like?!
