Remembering Snowball

So..my mom had to put down my cat today (he had a blockage in his throat and cancer). And I wanted to list some of my favorite memories of him to people who have actually met him. If you have your own favorite thing about him, feel free to share.

- When he was young, he used to follow me and Ryan to elementary school in the mornings. I remember him crossing with the crossing guards and everything. Occasionally my teachers would make me walk him home during recess when he actually stuck around that long (he'd sit in front of the school and wait for us to get out of class).
-When I was little, mom and I would have a night of playing Barbies once a week or so. Snowball would come into my Barbie closet and come steal Quints (septuplet baby Barbies)and then we'd have to go rescue them from "The Great White Monster".
-I once took him to show and tell and a guy in class insulted him, proceeded to pick him up and then Snowball bit his nose!
-How he bit everyone's nose..except mine. He always gave me a kiss (lick)on the lips
-Watching him tunnel through the snow
-How he'd drink out of the toilet, from the sink, anywhere except his water bowl
-He liked margarine as much as I did, if it got left on the counter, he'd eat it straight from the container
-Snacking: he liked to share our ice cream and our Cheetos (he'd lick all the cheese off and then eat them).
-He liked to sleep right up at our heads. He would paw at your hair. In the morning we would wake up to find that he had stolen the whole pillow
-Whenever Ryan got his head shaved, Snowball would sit above him and lick it until Ryan's head was actually wet
-He loved to roll around in the dirt. Often he'd come inside looking super grey
-How he'd pretend to look at the window, when mom and dad were making dinner. Then as soon as everyone had looked away he'd go right after the meat
-Standing outside brushing him with a broom and watching how much he enjoyed it
-Because of his sleeping habits, we often locked him out of the bedrooms at night. He would make whatever kind of noise he could think of (knocking stuff off counters, scratching doors. Knocking at a loose wall panel in the bathroom) until we came out to investigate then he'd run into our rooms
-When dad would take him and slide him across the floor, he'd look all annoyed but then go right back over to him to get slid again
-How high he'd get up on bookshelves and cabinets in order to get something he wanted (especially catnip)
-How I never had any hair elastics because they were his favorite toys, he bat them around for hours
-When he was little he used to sleep in the sink...so cute.
-How he'd come paw at the water when I was having a bath
-He loved to play with garland during Christmas and would pull it off the tree and get completely tangled in it
-He was so obsessed with being able to sit on the couch and see out the window. Whenever we put sticky decorations on our windows for holidays he would be sure to paw them all off so he could see. He'd also stick his head through the blinds
-On that note, it's pretty creepy to be goodnight kissing with your bf at the end of a date when you can see your cat watching you. Jeff and I were both a bit weirded out
-He really loved getting his nails clipped (especially when dad did it) He just get really limp and calm and enjoy his "peticure"
-He was a smart cat; he actually knew our vehicles and would rush up to greet us or meet us in the back when we parked in the garage
-We used to take him out camping with us every once in a while. One time Ryan and I took him on a leash and let him lead us for maybe 15 minutes. We ended up on the opposite side of the campsite and it took an hour to find our way back
-He helped me get an "A" when I used him as the subject of my great 8 science project: what effect does the temperature of cat food have on cats' consumption? I got to put up photos of my cat on the poster board and it was awesome, even if a couple people who didn't like me called Snowball fat. Grr....
-How he still remembered me whenever I came back home.
-Ryan and I used to play with Snowball by running through the house dragging a string and getting him to chase it...but he was smarter than that. He'd wait around a corner and every 3rd time or so when we went around he'd pounce on the string. It made for a tiring game for us kids, that's for sure.
-Our neighbours 2 doors down had a couple of big dogs and Snowball used to stand by their gate and just let the dogs bark at him. I think he enjoyed torturing them.
