(If you don't mind me commenting -) Hey, it makes perfect sense. I've been pondering that perhaps the latter is something we (sensible people? All of humanity?) long for, yet stupid crap comes in the way and while some are too "civilized" to acknowledge the spontaneous rage, it's a natural reaction to being in such a violent, aggressive world which perhaps isn't the natural/healthy/sane way of living? (Of course not saying it's only violent and agressive.)
Aggression is an instrument of evolution. It's exhibited in some fashion, subtle or obvious, in every living thing. But at some point, every animal gets tired and seeks some form of comfort.
But anyway, it wasn't so much a complete rage. It's more of a cold thing. A desire to steel myself and ruthlessly carve the world around me into what I want it to be. Born, somewhat, of the continued realization that a simpler life could be born if morality were deposed and a more "art of war" style of living took its place.
Unfortunately, or fortunately as the view may be, I lack the willpower to depose morality and follow logic alone. I get tired. I crave goodness. I want comfort.
Maybe some day I shall combine the two cravings and ruthlessly carve the world around me into a good place. Roots shall grow deep in earth fertilized by the dying.
