You need to right this down in a book. Sahmism sounds like it would be a sect of Christianity (believe in one God and that Jesus is his son blahblahblah are really the only major requirements for being christian, yet we make it a LOT harder than that) It's almost like you could be a Baptist and study Christianity and go to church and all that, but do all that through the practice of Sahmism. That's weird, because if you think I'm right about that, then it could help with this ongoing argument I've been having with my SUPER-CHRISTIAN friends. I fully consider myself to be a Methodist, with Baptist tendencies. That being said, when people try to bring up religious arguments AGAINST Christianity based off of something that is written in the Bible (like, homosexuality is a sin, for example) I tell them "well thats a stupid argument because the Bible is just a bunch of crap."
I think the Bible has a lot of great stories in it, all of which help you guide your life down a noble path. Those are GUIDELINES though, not strict instructions as to how you MUST live. There are parts of the Bible which. So much of the Bible is ridiculous... anyone who takes it word for word is crazy: case and point: Sodom and Gomorrah. Lot, a supposedly GOOD, GOD FEARING MAN, lives there with his wife and two daughters. The town is full of crazy homosexuals. One day, two visitors (who are angels in disguise) come to visit Lot in his home. Immediately all the crazy homos in the town start attacking Lot's home, yelling that they want those visitors so that they may anally rape them. What did Lot do? Well he was such a good man, he protected the two MEN angels, and offered his young VIRGIN daughters to the crowd instead. People say he is wonderful. He protected some men, at the expense of his own daughters. Already we have a major problem concerning the treatment of women.
