Parties
So we are headed down to LA in the morning, after a deluge of fun parties. Went to our friend the Monley's party Friday- it was great to see so many good friends that we don't get to see often any more. Really didn't want to leave it, but I had others waiting... so then I went to the youth group party fashionably late. Actually showed up just in time to choose my white elephant gift- which turned out to be a "recycling kit" that means trash. Creative... The best gift there had to be a bobblehead of me. Dan Sluis brought a bobble head where you can put a photo in the head. It was pretty funny. Annie stuffed herself in a box, Ormsbee wrapped up a mouse, pretty good all around. The party that took the cake though was tonight at Emily's house. It was magical or should I say madrigal... Her family threw a christmas carole party. I was a little worried at first to go since the only person we knew was emily. But we met some really neat people at the party and had some good conversations. Then we all moved into the living room and started singing the 12 days of christmas (we were given a number beforehand to determine our part- Rach and I traded up to 10 lords of leaping). I cannot sing well at all but there were many madrigals present and past there that made it into an amazing sounding evening. It was like a free concert! At the end, Emily and her mom and younger sister sang a beautiful song together. Her mom said they sang it every Christmas for the last 16 years and this was the first time Em's older sis wasn't there. It would have made me tear up if I wasn't so manly... hehe. Anyway, thanks Em for inviting us- you are awesome and your family is as well. Hope everyone has a great christmas! I will report back with all the good presents I got!
