Prayer
Happy Thanksgiving!! The time when I actually have some time to write something! I am writing mostly for prayer for our little one. We had a scare last Friday when we went to talk to the doctor about our child's ultrasound. The doctor said the ultrasound revealed choroid plexus cysts in the brain. That sounds bad eh? Picture hearing it as a dad! She said we needed to plan another ultrasound (this upcoming Weds) to monitor it. I guess alone they don't mean much, but if they were accompanied by other deformities in the limbs or heart he/she may be severely retarded and not survive over a year. They said the ultrasound did not reveal anything else so we should be fine. Nonetheless, very scary and lame to hear. So please pray for Rachel and I this Weds because we are going to be freaking out thinking they will find something else. The odds are only 0.003% that it will have this Trisomy 18 condition- but nonetheless they are talking about it so it worries us. Talking to tons of other people and researching it on the web, I guess they actually go away by the third trimester in 50% of people, and very rarely does it ever come to anything- but nearly all babies with this form of retardation, Trisomy 18, show these cysts early on, so they monitor it. I am trying to look on the bright side, more ultrasound pictures!!!
On a happier note, my dad bought us a car!! He paid $200 for it! It is a '93 Nissan Altima with only 46,000 miles on it. I guess the guy got laid off and couldn't afford the repairs so he sold it to my dad (a mechanic). So Monday and Tuesday I did all the repairs- new distributor, valve cover gasket, new brakes, changed a pulley, new tires, and a new radio that plays our ipod!!! So we did like $3000 in repairs (costs my dad a lot less) and we are getting it a paint job Christmas time. We will be crusing home in it Saturday. No more Jetta!!! Thank goodness!
Well the party is getting started downstairs, better head out!
