Wow
Oh man! Today... what a big day! Today I officially went to the BIG TIME. Thank you God. Today I was informed via email that I am the recipient of the presitigious EPA STAR fellowship. Over 1300 apply, only 50 were given this year. It pays for everything. School, stipend, research, travel to conferences. This is so amazingly incredibly awesome. I was just getting ready to deal with the fact that I would have to worry about funding soon and start finding teaching jobs and writing grants. No more. I am set for the rest of my PhD... This is just too crazy. About a month ago I decided to look and see if they notified folks of who got the awards. I thought I found a list and saw I was not on it- I was sad, but then I realized that it was a tough list to be on. I also realized it was last years list. One person from UC Davis got it last year. Other recipients were from Harvard, Princeton, Stanford, Yale, Berkelely- you name it. I mean big time. Putting this on my resume basically classifies me as a stud. God is too good to me. This is almost as big as Fisher hitting that shot with .4 seconds... ;)
