Good news! I got a B on my research paper! That's not too bad considering until now all of my essays have gotten B- or C. WOOHOO! This paper is worth 500 points, and I am so pleased! What a relief!
I went to Regionals for tennis and my partner and I did pretty darn good. We're going to State! This kind of is good because it means we don't suck. It's not good because I'm missing more school, I don't really like tennis THAT much, I don't like the girls on my team very well (seriously, if I have to sit in a car for an hour while they do their hair and make-up ever again, I'm going to scream), I'm going to be missing the band awards ceremony, the tennis practices are so hard that I almost passed out today, and the real kicker is that my coach has become obsessed with winning rather than having fun. Um. It's a game; if we're not playing to have fun, why the hell play?
So anyway, enough griping. I have enough pots bisqued that I can pass my pottery class, I only have 6 more assignments to complete for latin, I am in a fairly light hearted mood.
In AP lit and comp I'm reading Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance. I think that I will have to try to read it again- slower- in about a year by my own interest. This isn't a good book to read for a class, but it is a good book. It talks a lot about philosophy, and it reminds me a little bit of Sophie's World.
