Hello friends!
It's been so long since I've posted anything over here, it's almost appalling. I'm still alive! I started a new job, and even though it's not all that different from my old job (as a business editor), starting is always a little stressful and exhausting. On top of that, my commute is much longer, which has been eating into my free time like crazy. I really haven't done any writing in the last six months, which is so sad to me. I miss it!! I still have plenty of ideas I want to write, but it's just a matter of finding the time (and energy) to sit down and do it.
Summers are always so busy. Why do I still think summers will be more relaxed than the rest of the year? They never are. Between hockey, softball, and visitors coming through town, my evenings and weekends most weeks were just gone. And then the Olympics started, and I was pretty much glued to the TV every waking minute I was home. It's been a fun summer, but boy, am I tired. I need to stop signing up for so many activities... :)
To end the summer, I am moving!! Not far. It's literally two miles down the road, but moving is hard work no matter how far you go. I'm staring at my desk right now thinking I should start packing some of this stuff up, but I still have six days, right? Oye. I'm very excited for the new place (and very excited to get out of the current place). I'm losing two roommates: one who never cleans anything and one who is sadly so insecure she does all these manipulative things to get attention. (These are fully grown women in their 30s, mind you. Thought people eventually outgrew this kind of stuff and learned to clean up after themselves, but apparently not.) I will only have one roommate, we will each have our own bathroom, and she is clean!!! She is so, so clean. So the next couple of weeks will be hectic but then... heaven!
Hope everyone is doing well! I have hardly been online all summer and I know there are stories out there I need to go back and track down and read. I will get to them eventually! I promise!
