The Last Airbender

I watched The Last Airbender on 23rd. It was a complete disaster. I watched Avatar:The Last Airbender for almost four times and all three books. And I honestly think that M. Night Shyamalan didn't even watch it. I guess one or two of his assistants briefly mentioned the concept to him and he wrote the scenerio like that.

I really don't know where to start but i think cast choices made everybody mad. Like the fire nation people I know are as white as chalk and water tribe people are dark skinned. And I remember how uncle Iroh looks and acts and the man in the movie has nothing in common with the character.

I know that squeezing all of the book one into a two hour movie requires narrowing the scenes. However the last airbender lacks humour and fun and joy that were essential in the series. The movie has only the emotional and gloomy scenes and it makes it harder to sit for one hour and fourty three minutes. The bending moves are slow and long and boring. (With cutting them shorter he might be able to squueze another scene to the movie :] )
Also fire nation benders DON'T need a burning fire around them to bend fire unlike the ones in the movie. They can make their own fire.

The only good thing about the movie is the visual effects but we're in 2010. we were expecting this much and they satisfy us in that way. However with the weak and unsuccesful script and the obvious and fatal mistakes Shymalan's The Last Airbender makes us wait for a remake of the movie again in like 20 years or so.
