I figure I should archive some of the things I've made to surround myself in the shadows of their glory. I like looking at people's (usually amazing) DIY things, so I figured I should share mine too~ [look of innocence]
NOTE: If anyone's wondering, "Uh... what is this supposed to be?" click on the image and it will direct you to what was supposed to be my inspiration.
Hard Hat: I got it free (without the letters, of course) during an externship at Dow Chemical Company, but I don't have any use for a hard hat in real life so I put 雅紀.com on it so I'll still love it regardless. Oh, and that's why it's white, not yellow.
Hard Hat Keychain: Free keychain at the engineering safety day at the University of Texas at Austin, but I didn't really care for the company it actually was advertising... shh... so I scratched it off with a sugar cube and repainted 雅紀.com on. Yay!
Mirror Man iPod Case: I needed a new iPod and thus a new iPod case (my old one was first-generation iPod nano and so the screen was different so my handmade Domo-kun case wouldn't fit. I put the Aの嵐! there because it seemed empty otherwise. I would have attached arms and legs but it might make it worse and it'd be impractical for portability. I'd take a picture of the front, but I have planned on putting a photo of Aiba-chan on the wheel since the front literally is a mirror, but I can't find it in my heart to cut up a picture of him, so I should just draw one.
[Work in Progress] "Scene" ~ 君と僕の見ている風景 Tour DVD Box: I bought this DVD box when I went to college and it was pure white so I decided to decorate it since I was so excited about the tour! I started with the stripes and dots that are on everything (the pamphlet, clearfiles, cardboard backing of the penlight, cellphone strap, etc.), and then I did the back, then the front, and then I was like, "What to do with the rest? (aka, the top, and the top left and right sides)" And so I ended up looking at all of the merchandise and realizing that I had already imitated 4 different concert goods, I might as well imitate the rest... can you guess which side is which concert good?
"Scene" ~ 君と僕の見ている風景 Tour DVD Box (cont'd): Here are the answers!
Front top: Pin Badge Set (Also, I'm going to add Arashi's symbol abstractly in the center.)
Front bottom: (The edge of the) Hooded Towel
Left bottom: Take your pick from the penlights, bath towel, clearfiles, etc.
Left top: (Back of the) Uchiwas
Right top: (The lid of the) Band-aid Tin
Right bottom: Penlights, bath towel, clearfiles, etc.
Back: T-shirt
Top: Phone Strap
P.S. - The inside is white with white polka dots so I can pretend it's like the pamphlet, haha!
[Work in Progress] Aiba-chan in Wink Up [November 2009]-inspired Laptop Bag: I love that photoshoot. Right now this doesn't look like anything. The yellow ribbon was supposed to be accompanied by other ribbons to be like the shopping cart, but it looks weird, so I might scrap it. I need to make some straps for zippers since I bought the bag for $1 and am spending a lot more on revamping it. Technically he's wearing a gingham jacket and I bought Houndstooth, but still, overall same effect, right? It needs a lot of work on it:
- Zippers
- Flowers
- Ribbons
- Rhinestones
- Blue/Green Plaid ribbon/bowtie
- Perhaps the puffball thing that Aiba-chan wore in Hello Goodbye
Hmm. We'll see. Right now, it's a little more ghetto than normal, but when I'm done with it, I hope it'll be insanely weirdly flamboyant like his photoshoot, and people will think I'm weird, yet some amazing people might think I'm eccentrically amusing. :)
I shall update over time~
