I had to deal with a major cheating scandal today.
I had 15 students in my Tech 3 class, Web Design, cheat on the midterm. It was worth a major percentage of their semester grade. If not for the fact that only one of the students would have failed because of a zero, I would have given them all zero's. Instead I am allowing for a retest that I will average with a zero. Breaks my heart that so many of my students cheated on such an easy exam. I really couldn't have made it any easier, and the students were totally capable of getting a perfect score in their sleep. I was so disappointed in them. These are some of my best and brightest students. Heartbroken. The only way I could describe it to them.
