Thursday Thirteen
When I was a kid, the Bloody Mary legend scared the hell out of me. I was always the one to run crying from the room at slumber parties when the other girls would decide to do it. They probably thought I was a big baby, but really - who wants to risk having a bloody, evil face come out of the mirror and claw you? To this day, I can't be in a dark room with a mirror, especially a bathroom. Once the power cut off when I was in the bathroom, and I thought I was going to be found dead on the toilet like Judy Garland, only having died of fright instead of a drug overdose.
Fast forward to present day. Becca came home from a slumber party a couple days ago, and told me she did the Bloody Mary chant in a dark bathroom in front of the mirror by herself. Holy crap! I wasn't sure whether to be proud of her for being so brave, or start praying that nothing followed her home. We'll have to wait and see if there's an exorcism in her future.
But although I'm a big wussy when it comes to Bloody Mary, I really do enjoy horror movies, TV shows, books, urban legends, etc. October is one of my favorite months; I love Halloween. I probably have more in the way of Halloween decorations than Christmas decorations. There is always a horror movie playing somewhere on TV, and I enjoy walking the neighborhood and looking at all the yards all decorated.
So my Thursday Thirteen this week is about horror movies. These are movies that scared the hell out of me the first time I saw them.
