Thursday Thirteen, #162

Sep 11, 2008 21:42

This is my second time participating in the Thursday Thirteen, and again I was trying to figure out what to write about. Then while in the van today running errands and listening to the radio, I decided to compile 13 of my favorite 60s songs. This in NO WAY is even my top 13; just 13 songs I love out of the 100s of 60s songs I love. No Beatles songs are on this list because favorite Beatles songs is a category of its own for another week. The songs in the list are guaranteed to make me want to dance and/or sing at the top of my lungs.

Thirteen Favorite Songs of the 1960s

1. Build Me Up, Buttercup by The Foundations
2. Pleasant Valley Sunday by The Monkees
3. Five O'Clock World by The Vogues
4. I Was Made to Love Her by Stevie Wonder
5. Cinnamon Girl by Neil Young & Crazy Horse
6. Monday, Monday by The Mamas and The Papas
7. Gimme Shelter by The Rolling Stones
8. I'm Into Something Good by Herman's Hermits
9. Glad All Over by The Dave Clark Five
10. Needles and Pins by The Searchers
11. World Without Love by Peter and Gordon
12. You Baby by The Turtles
13. Gimme Some Lovin' by Spencer Davis Group

That is just a tiny list! My love of 60s music goes so far beyond that. I could make a different 60s list every week for a year and probably still never list all the songs I love!
