Piper coped with trauma the best way she knew how: by baking. She spent the last few hours in the kitchen baking cookies and brownies. Though her experience in that hellish world was not as awful as some others, she still had some memories from there. She baked so she didn't have to think about how depressing it was, or the strange guilt she felt

How predictable. A boyfriend calling.

Ring, ring hookah, ring ring.

Piper replaced a spatula with her phone when she heard it ring. She smiled when she saw the I.D. "Hey, you."

[wannabelawyer]

"Hey," Lindsey said back. "Just making sure you're still here and not disappeared again. You gotta stop doing that."

"I know," Piper sighed. "Fandom needs to stop doing that. Doesn't it know I have important baking to do?"

[wannabelawyer]

"What are you making me?" Lindsey asked. Because obviously all the baking was for his benefit, never mind that he wasn't even in the right universe.

"Maybe you'll have to be here to find out," Piper said, smirking. "Or I can just save some for you."

If the rest of the hotel residents didn't get to it first.

Lindsey sighed dramatically. "Well. If I have to. Somehow I'll manage. Just make sure Turner doesn't eat it all first."

"I can't make promises I can't keep," Piper snickered.

[wannabelawyer]

"Blow'im up if he gets too close to the kitchen," Lindsey suggested. "Or freezing is okay too I guess if you don't want to make a mess."

[cookinggeek]

Piper chuckled. "I'll see what I can do. I'm sure there's at least one hiding place he doesn't know about, yet."

Maybe.

[wannabelawyer]

"You could come here and do your baking," Lindsey pointed out. "He's less likely to eat everything then." Well, slightly less likely anyway. "Unless he takes the food as payment for bringing you."

[cookinggeek]

"That's probably the best idea," Piper said, nodding. "I could make that happen. But there would be some payment, yeah."

[wannabelawyer]

"I can probably live without the baked goods," Lindsey admitted. "But you should still come here. Or I should come there. Or both. I miss you."

[cookinggeek]

"Then I'll be there soon," Piper said without hesitation. "I miss you, too. And I can't wait until we're not in separate universes anymore."
