Today was Piper's birthday. She spent it by attending classes, one of which she had a test in. Not exactly the most fun birthday ever. Didn't help that it was Monday. She had cake, though. Cake made by her best friend. That made things better

Oh, look, the phone was ringing again.

This time, Piper glanced at the caller ID. "Hi Chris."

"Happy Birthday," Chris said. "Got any big plans?"

"Thanks," Piper said, grinning. "Not really. The 22nd birthday is not as exciting as the 21st."

Saying her current age out loud reminded her a little about how weird it was she was talking to her son who was only four years younger.

"Yeah, I still have a few years for that," Chris said. "Maybe I can orb over there and take you out to lunch sometime this week?"

"I'd like that," Piper replied. "It would be nice to spend time with you."

"I agree," Chris said. "Let me know when you have a couple of hours."

"Maybe sometime between classes. I usually have some time then," Piper suggested.

"Sounds good to me," he agreed. "Not like travel time is a concern."

"Yeah that's definitely convenient," Piper agreed. "And it is a cool power, too."

"Better than being a lawyer," he couldn't stop from saying.

"I'm sure there are some lawyers with teleporting ability," Piper casually replied.

"Yeah, sure," Chris agreed. "So, yeah, me and you, lunch this week."

Piper nodded. "Sounds good to me."

"Cool," Chris said. "Then I'll see you soon. Love you!"
