[Action] Preparations
Rika knocked on Mari’s door having arranged to meet her earlier. Opening the door Mari smiled warmly, “Rika-chan. Come on in”
Rika stepped into the apartment and smiled at Chisato who nodded back before getting up. “Right I’m off, I don’t want to listen in to you girls plotting the downfall of my best friend”
“Chisato-san we’re planning a birthday party” Rika said amused
“Exactly” Chisato grinned, giving Mari a kiss and waving goodbye as he walked out the door.
“I take it he doesn’t know you told me?” Rika enquired as she sat down while Mari pulled out the plans they had drawn up earlier in the week. Between herself, Mari and Sakura they had come up with some great ideas.
“Not yet.” Mari answered, “I figured we’d get the birthday plans out of the way first. I don’t think he’d mind but he might feel the need to tell Touya and we don’t really want that.”
Rika nodded in agreement; after all they could tackle Touyas stupidity anytime, “That makes sense. So what have we got left to do?”
Mari passed Rika the list they had made, “Sakura is going to speak to Naoko and Touyas other friend Nakuru. And as much as he’s grumbling Chisato has already told the guys where to be and when.”
“Ok. We’ve already spoken to Haru and we’ve sorted everything with Suzuki for the three of them to get away early.”
Mari nodded, “Thanks to Itou-kun, I still don’t know how he managed to convince his parents to let some of their staff work at Planet Okonomi for the night.”
Rika grinned, “With the right incentive anything can happen”
Mari giggled, “How is that going?”
“Good I think, well it was. Now who knows.” Rika hoped the situation wouldn’t hamper any potential relationship they could have but had promised Yoshi she wouldn’t interfere…too much.
Mari sighed, “He has to grow a brain sometime right?”
“Let’s hope so. Though it is Touya so he may need assistance” Rika said with a wink.
Mari laughed, “Itou-kun knows when and where right?”
Rika nodded, recalling the conversation she had recently had with him, “Of course. He’s going to help Yoshi set everything up along with Kinomoto-sensei, Syaoran and a few of the other guys.”
“I still can’t believe you managed to get the schools permission to hold it in their hall”
“That was all Yoshi’s doing, he went to the principal who agreed straight away. We thought it was going to be much harder.” Rika admitted, though she had a sneaking suspicion it was to do with the enquiry that had taken place last term.
“Well it was a big relief. So we have the hall and decorations sorted, you and Haru are going to take care of the food…”
“With help from Kokoro of course” Rika added
“…of course. The guys are taking care of the drinks, the lights and the music.”
“With plenty of Spitz” Rika grinned
Mari nodded smiling before going back to the list, “And Sakura and Naoko are going to distract him until we’re ready.”
“I do believe we are fully prepared.” Rika said smiling happily
“You know we are brilliant at this.” Mari added also smiling, “I say we grab a drink and I’ll show you what I made for Touya’s birthday present”
“That sounds like a good plan” Rika agreed, standing up. “This is going to be a great night, I just hope Touya enjoys it”
“He will. I’m sure of it” Mari said moving into the kitchen.
I hope so, Rika thought as she followed.
