Help finding a dessert?

Jul 10, 2013 02:44

Hello lovely people! I am hoping that someone can help me find a dessert that will go with the recipe listed below. The catches are it can not have an egg glaze or nuts in it, and it needs to be something that can be eaten a few hours after it is made since I will be cooking in the morning to try and beat the heat. Thanks!

Mmm. I'd say something served chilled and citrusy to counterbalance the chorizo. These lemon berry cheesecake bars are delicious and can be made a day in advance (but don't have to be, so long as you have a few hrs to chill them):

The shortbread crust is insane.

Sounds like a very tasty cheesecake to serve to a large group. I thought there was a glaze on top because of the moist golden colour on top but it may be that the icing sugar melted?

Oh, that's explained in the post -- it's an idea gone wrong (LOL). I originally tried to put a lemon bar kind of mixture over top and that did NOT work. But I posted the recipe without that mess up and have made it several times with the version posted. They're my dad's favorite dessert!

I read the post and had to say that it was a great idea as I liked the look of the 'failure'. The cheesecake layer looks light and moussey rather than being dense and heavy.

The dessert choice depends on how many you'll be serving and whether it's a formal or casual event as well. I was thinking of a Spanish/Mexican themed churros with chocolate sauce and fresh fruit.

Or how about a flan that you can make ahead?

I ended up making the churros since it was a mostly relaxed family event and they were a huge success! Thank you! :D

What about Flan? Can be made ahead and kept in the fridge. DELICIOUS. Mexican traditional dessert.

This is the vanilla flan recipe I use. It's pretty easy.

And here's a dulce de leche version with my home made dulce de leche. Very rich and tasty.
