Looking for a sweet salmon recipie

May 21, 2013 19:31

I'm looking for a salmon recipie - not too hard to make, no vinegar or tomato sauce.

The guests are not exactly on a diet, but 'watching their weight', so there will be steamed veggies on the side, or baked with the salmon.

Any ideas?

fish: salmon

I just rub some garlic olive oil on mine, salt+pepper+lemon juice, in the oven at 400 degrees for 20 minutes or so. Delicious every time.

I usually do roasted carrots with my baked salmon. Just cut into strips, tossed in some olive oil and red wine vinegar and seasoned, in the oven at the same time as salmon, although I take it out a little earlier so the carrots have some crunch.

Seasoned with salt/pepper/garlic/olive oil then baked or grilled with pesto is my favorite way to eat it, also marinated with soy sauce+honey+ginger then cooked is great.

I second the soy/honey/ginger option. Sprinkle with some sesame seeds if you're feeling fancy.

I suggest poaching in white wine.

Ingredients:

some green herbs that you have lying around (cilantro, chives, or green onion works well)
soy sauce

Recipe:

Marinate salmon in soy sauce and chopped herbs for up to 30 minutes. Then bake or cook in a pan until just done. You can probably bake or cook the veggies alongside it; they'd also get cooked in the marinade mixture, and that'd be tasty.

gently blot any excess moisture with paper towel
drizzle with olive oil
season with salt and ground pepper
pop into a COLD oven which you then turn on to 400
leave in for 25-30 minutes
and then savor the best tasting, flakiest, yummiest salmon you ever put in your mouth.
