I finally got around to experimenting with sweet beer bread recipes.

My first experiment was Pumpkin Beer Bread
I start with my base recipe of:
3 cups flour
1 tsp salt
1 Tbsp baking powder
Then add
1 (12 oz) bottle Buffalo Bill America's Original Pumpkin Ale
1 (15 oz) can pumpkin
1 cup sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp ginger
1 tsp all spice
1/4 tsp ground cloves
a dash of nutmeg
1 cup chopped walnuts

Mix together.
Scrape into a buttered bread pan
Bake for 1 hr at 350F

My second experiment was Double Chocolate Stout Beer Bread
I start with my base recipe of:
3 cups flour
1/2 tsp salt
1 Tbsp baking powder
Than add:
1 (1 lt) bottle Young's Double Chocolate Stout
1 cup dutch processed cocoa
2 cups sugar

Mix together.
Scrape into a buttered bread pan
Bake for 1 hr at 350F

I used less sugar in pumpkin bread because I didn't think it needed to be very sweet.
I used more beer in the chocolate bread because it was dry from the additional sugar and cocoa powder. The pumpkin bread was not as dry because of the pumpkin puree.

They both came out great! Very dense and moist. All my taste testers were pleased.
